"The toll booth"
On this rocky wall, we can see a carving mentioning the old owner of the cave’s road, “Via privata Fabricotti”. This family initially contributed to the cut of timber as we said earlier on, and after that, took part at mine extractions. He worked together with Sir. Semenza under the appointment of the Count Cavour.
Here once stood a tree, called the “tree of the chain”: this was a point on the toll road where took place the payment of the fee allowing the crossing of the mountain.
